We are here in Yamazoe Village,
in the Okuyamato region of Nara.
Compared to the city things might be inconvenient,
and there are those who prefer things this way.
Regardless of your preference, we just want you to see,
to taste, to feel the countryside at “ume,”.
What you will find here is ordinary everyday life in the mountains.
You can experience the rich expressions of nature as it changes with the time and seasons.
You can enjoy local seasonal foods,
a healthy taste we greatly recommend.
The local elders come by to talk, relying on face-to-face communication rather than cellular phones.
What you will experience here is nothing unusual, nothing uncommon,
but you can feel a clear connection with your thoughts and feelings,
with the past and future,
and with yourself and the world around you.

Here you can feel happiness,
not because of all the material things you have,
but through realizing all the immaterial things you have.

through your time spent as one of the village residents.
